Chicago based musician, Britt Jones was born out of the neon ashes like some truck-stop phoenix that’s hiding in the sublime glow of the dimly lit dives. In that haze and ether is where the vibe sets.
His debut album Guernica released in 2017, is a mix of electronic and alternative music marked by a balance of guitar-driven sound. The smokiness of sultry synths, drum loops, and machines that very much gave us a sense of his “sound” developing. With his latest release Beneath The Waves, he further refines his sound, which Jones refers to as Wavvy-rock. His sound can be described as an urban slacker by way of post-punk surfer. Sonically, he rides on the foundations of fuzz, reverb, delay, and chorus under the hypnosis of an unrelenting drum groove. Jones’s projects in the past have landed him opening for the Smith Westerns, Djing with national acts such as Dillon Francis and Wolfgang Gartner.
